Max Boxer Adult Male for sale in Austin, Texas

$300

Max's story
**Max is currently being fostered in Houston, TX. His adoption donation is $300USD, which covers his foster and vetting expenses. Because care is so expensive, the adoption fee is non-negotiable.**
Max came to us as the long tail fallout from Hurricane Harvey continues. After having Max for his entire life, his family could no longer afford to care for him after losing much of their belongings and parts of their home to the hurricane. While they were devastated, they felt it best for us to find Max a family who can afford to give him the great care he deserves.
Max is a 5-year old Boxer. He is a big boy at nearly 75 pounds and he is very tall. Many management companies may have restrictions against a dog of his size, so it is important to check with your management agency prior to applying. Max is a medium-high energy level guy. He loves to go on adventures, ride in the car, go on walks, but also loves a little snuggle time with his family. He would be best suited for a family that can ensure proper exercise for this big boy.
Max currently lives with other dogs and does fine, but he should be placed with a family with either a female dog or as a bachelor dog. He does not always enjoy the company of male dogs, but has a few female pack mates that he loves to run and play with. Max is an alpha male, so this is something to be taken into consideration prior to adoption. He is AMAZING, but does have some quirks.
Max is great with kids and would make a great adventuring buddy for some kids who have been taught to be respectful of animals to grow up with. Max has not been tested with kitties.
Max is fully house and kennel trained, is great on leash, and loves to go for rides in the car. He is a big baby who will steal your heart if you give him the change.
The best suited family will be one that understands that dogs can take time to acclimate to their new homes - which will likely include having accidents, crying in their kennel, and chewing on things they are not supposed to. Max will be best suited for a family that can provide him with patience and positive reinforcement as he grows.
We expect our dogs to be adopted by families who plan to keep them as indoor pets and part of the family. We do not adopt to families who plan to keep dogs outside for an extended period of time, for example the entire workday.
Max is fully vetted and extremely healthy. He has been neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, is heartworm negative and microchipped. He does not have any health or allergy issues that we are aware of.
