Asami Domestic Shorthair Adult Female for sale in Austin, Texas

Asami's story
Mysterious, serene, sleek Asami is a sweet little girl with big, golden eyes that are full of depth. When she gazes up at you it is impossible not to fall totally in love and bend to her every desire!! Asami is a bit timid and shy with humans but she's been through a lot in her short little life and came to APA extremely ill. She is progressing by leaps and bounds and we have no doubt she'll warm right up to any adopter who is patient, gentle and kind to her. She is wild and rambunctious with her brother, Count Orlok. They LOVE to wrestle and will go crazy playing with each other until they are both exhausted. Then, it's time for a nice long nap to recuperate. She'll wait for you to come to her with pets but once she trusts you she likes to nap right by your side on the couch. Head scratches are her favorite. We have never heard her make a sound except for purring! She is easy-going with other cats and has not been bothered by the resident kitty in her foster home but also, not super eager to interact. She adores her brother, though, and they are together constantly. She has not yet met any dogs and would probably be a little wary of small children. Asami would love a home that is somewhat quiet where her personality can continue to blossom! She is a bit shy and will need someone very caring who is willing to work on making a connection with her versus having a love-you-straight-out-of-the-box kitten. Asami has tested positive for Feline Leukemia (FeLV). It is possible for kittens six months and younger to shed this virus completely and test negative, so Asami will be re-tested for FeLV at her six month birthday, at which time a definitive diagnosis can be assured. Until then, Asami should live with no other cats or kittens to ensure the virus is not passed. Asami is available for adoption now to adopters who can accommodate a feline leukemia positive, or negative, cat as she is not yet of age to have a definitive test. For more information, please contact APA! or read more by our Partner, Best Friends Animal Society: http://bit.ly/2FwYCxR All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team. For further information or to meet Asami, please email adopt@austinpetsalive.org.
