Zany, Playful, Entertaining Let us introduce you to madcap Macadamia! Kind of weird, somewhat silly, a space cadet at times and endlessly fun! Some days Macadamia decides to run from you when you enter the room, next thing you know she's rolling over on the floor asking for belly rubs! She's always ready to emphatically chat with you about all things kitty and she's in heaven when you pet her pretty coat. Macadamia loves nothing more than to walk around you while you sit and make biscuits! She's just happy to have company. If Macadamia is in full wacky-mode, she will run right into things, then it's off to play with a wand toy, she loves those! She hasn't been in a home with kids, but she'd likely acclimate nicely to older, respectful children. We haven't seen her with dogs, but we suspect she'd take charge and try to boss them around! Macadamia is FeLV+ (Feline Leukemia Virus), which causes a weakened immune system and requires special care. APA! provides some medical assistance after adoption. Cats with FeLV typically have a shortened lifespan. She is not contagious to people or dogs, but should live only with other FeLV+ cats. Macadamia has lived in kitty group rooms during her entire time at the shelter and has cohabitated with her roomies just fine. She has been known to be slightly litterbox challenged. She almost entirely urinates in the litterbox, but she leaks just a little bit, too. We don't know why, but it hasn't worsened at all over time. You might even say it's part of her quirky charm!
