Mel Domestic Shorthair Adult Male for sale in Austin, Texas

Mel's story
Sweet, wise, chill We can tell that Mel is so grateful to be in the loving Felvie Sanctuary. He's sweet, laid back, and well-behaved. He's polite to the other cats in his room, and he has great house manners. He'll meow at mealtimes to thank you for his food, but he's otherwise a quiet little dude. We haven't seen him with dogs or kids, but since he's polite and calm, he'd probably be OK with gentle dogs and kids. Mel purrs up a storm as soon as you start petting him and scratching his head! Though he's not much of a lap-sitter, he does love it when you hold him and stroke him. All Mel really asks of life is a forever home with people he can trust to love and care for him. He'd be good with another cat-friendly cat, but he'd also be fine as a solo cat. He wouldn't mind if you're gone all day, as long as you give him lots of love when you get home. Mel really is the perfect companion for anyone looking for a sweet, easy, no-drama kitty! Mel has tested positive for FeLV (Feline Leukemia Virus). FeLV cats have a virus that causes a weaker immune system - they do not have cancer! For the most part, felvies are just like any other cat. You could not pick one out of the crowd, and they generally do not require much additional care. As a bonus, we waive their adoption fees! APA! provides full coverage and treatment for any FeLV-related issues that arise after the time of adoption. Cats with FeLV typically have a shortened lifespan - we like to compare it to the lifespan of adopting a senior kitty, with the added benefit that they don't have chronic senior health problems, and that FeLV related medical care is covered. Mel is not contagious to people, dogs or other animals, but should live only with other FeLV+ cats. FIV+ cats typically live long, healthy lives! For more information, please contact APA! or read this FAQ: http://bit.ly/2DPxI43 All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip.
