Jewelry Designer / Creative Person / Sales Guru in Austin, Texas

I'm looking to hire one creative lady who has sales in her blood, knows how to make or wants to learn how to make jewelry & wants to grow within my company!

So, you probably have 2 sides to your personality -- both creative and outgoing!

My company is growing fast, so there is opportunity for more if you want it!

Prior experience as a jewelry designer is not required but is definitely a plus.

---
HOURS:

You'll be working at the South Congress Artist Market every Saturday from 10:00am-7pm selling my jewelry.

You'll be in the studio twice a week for two 5-hour shifts.

We usually start between 9:30am and 10:30am.

SKILLS:

SALES SKILLS: You have a knack for sales without being pushy and "salesy".

You can easily strike up conversation with strangers.

You're extroverted, friendly, and confident.

No snooty attitudes.

You're driven and motivated when it comes to making money and achieving goals.

JEWELRY SKILLS:

Attention to detail is essential because you'll be working with small, delicate jewelry that will show mistakes easily.

Prior experience making jewelry is a bonus, but is not required.

I can teach you how to make my jewelry, but you must be skilled at tedious, meticulous work.

Many times, you are making the same pieces over and over, especially when a particular style becomes popular.

Each piece is a work of art and you must approach each piece with the same attitude of perfection.

GENERAL SKILLS:

You must be hard working and productive.

Time is money when you are in the studio!

We work at a fast, but very relaxed pace.

Must have pride in what you do!

I'm looking for people who like being the best at whatever they do in life.

Intelligent.

Professional.

Positive attitude, no negative energy, no drama.

Fashion and style are important to you!

WE ARE A FASHION COMPANY!

What else can you bring to the table?

JOB DESCRIPTION:

A typical "day in the life" at the market selling starts Saturday morning when we meet at the market to set up the booth from 10-11am.

It gets busy from 12-3pm, and then foot-traffic is somewhat unpredictable after that, usually slowing down a bit with small spikes of foot-traffic until 5 or 6.

I'll come back at 5pm and we'll break down the booth at 5:30 or 6 and be done by 6:30 or 7pm.

If it rains, you don't work that day.

Your job is to sell as much jewelry as possible, get as many emails as possible, and have fun with customers whom will buy from you again!

Its pretty chill and fun, but it's also hard work!

You're sitting outside, under a tent, in the sun, heat, or cold weather for 7 hours.

The only entertainment you have is the people who walk through the booth!

Some days are boring and other days are kick ass!

A typical "day in the life" for you in the studio would consist of being with me in my studio making jewelry twice a week.

You'll be sitting down at a table, working with sheet metal, wire, gemstones, hammers, a drill and other tools.

It's pretty chill.

You just have to be productive!

I'm usually listening to music, returning emails, packing up orders, making phone calls, working on social media, etc.

I also have another girl who works with me in the studio, so you might be working with her some days.

I have 7 big sales a year, so there is additional studio time available if you are looking for more hours.

GROWTH:

If you would like to grow within my company, taking on new challenges and responsibilities along the way, we can play off your strengths!

So there is huge potential to grow within my company in different directions down the line.

The more my company grows, the more you will grow within my company.

The harder you work, the easier it will be for you to take on additional responsibilities.

This is why I'm looking for someone who is driven and motivated.

However, if you are only looking for 20 hours a week, that's fine too!

Because the training will take 3-4 months, I'm looking for someone who wants to grow with me and stay with me long term, not leave after 6-7 months.

I'm also a wardrobe stylist, so I'm sometimes with clients.

You might be working alone some days if a last minute styling gig come up, but not at first.
