Meet Maverick, this guy caught our attention at the city shelter in San Antonio. Everytime we walked by his cage he stared at us with those piercing blue eyes pleading for help. We knew we couldn't leave him behind to face the uncertainty of the shelter so he came to CARE. Maverick is very young at about a year old, he is full grown at 44lbs. He loves going on walks and the quickest way to his heart is scratches behind his ears! His foster mom tells us that he is a gentle guy that loves playing with other dogs and is apparently already house trained! He catches on to things quick although returning the tennis ball in a game of fetch is proving to be his challenge haha.
