Costa Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) Adult Female in Austin, Texas

My story
Sitter needed: 12/16/21 - 1/5/21 Costa is in love with being outside and going on walks. Within the first days at her foster home, she learned that when her foster mom got dressed for the day she was about to go on a walk, so she began following her around, wagging her tail and nuzzling her until they got out the door. She is so motivated by going outside! She has learned to sit on command because she's rewarded by going out. Costa has become a different dog since being fostered. At first, she had to be encouraged to cross any threshold or go upstairs. Now, it's no problem for her and she's much more confident. In the apartment, she mostly stays to herself, but she will play with her stuffed turtle or alligator with her foster mom if prompted. She isn't perfectly comfortable with snuggling yet, but she's warmed up to it and won't squirm away if her fosters lay next to her. Costa is a face-licker. It doesn't matter how well she knows you, if you hold your face to hers, she'll almost always give you a huge kiss. She's also a huge fan of fetch. Even if she's very tired, she'll sprint for the ball every time it's thrown. She's also excited to see and meet other dogs, and hasn't acted aggressive toward them. She does like to chase birds, cats and squirrels, so how well she would cohabitate with a cat is unsure. And she is house-trained. Costa will love a home with a family who can take her on those walks she loves. She is heartworm positive, but all that means is that she'll need a couple of months of rest during treatment, at APA!'s expense. Come meet this adorable girl!
